Warranty: horse tack

Lumiere honours the workmanship on all bridles, breastplates, and other leather horse tack for  12 months from the date of purchase, with proof of receipt from Lumiere directly or one of our retail partners.

What's covered

• Defects in leather, stitching, or construction
• Faulty components — buttons, crystals, billets and buckles

What isn't covered

• Normal wear and tear, including scratches, sole wear, natural creasing, and colour fading
• Damage caused by misuse, neglect, accident, or unauthorised repair
• Damage resulting from horses putting extreme force on leather (ie pull backs and standing on reins)
• Colour change caused by oiling

Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims. Warranty on a repaired or replaced pair runs from the original purchase date, not the replacement date.

How faults are resolved

Every claim is assessed individually against photos and proof of purchase. Depending on the nature and severity of the fault, we'll offer a repair, a discount, or a replacement.

Warranty FAQs

What if I bought my tack second-hand? The warranty applies only to products purchased new, from Lumiere or an authorised retailer.

What if my horse caused the breakage? Tack is crafted from leather intentionally, so it will break when put under extreme pressure. This is a safety element. We want your reins to break if your horse's leg get's stuck in in them, or your bridle to break if your horse is tied up while wearing a bridle - it is better that your tack is damaged than your horse is injured. Tack breakages when leather is put under extreme pressure are not covered by warranty, however we sell a lot of bridle parts enabling you to replace a broken component if needed.
